GOAL

Create a short video to assist in a capital campaign to restore the Miss Bellows Falls diner in Bellows Falls, Vermont.

PARTNER / CLIENT / CHIEF FUNDER

APPROACH

Preservation Trust of Vermont was supporting Rockingham for Progress’ drive to renovate and restore the historic Miss Bellows Falls diner.  The short social media video served as a conversation starter for approaching potential funders, conveying the urgent need for the project, while visually illustrating the current state of the diner and communicating the knowledge and passion of renovation project team.  We sought to keep the project as budget-friendly as possible with a small and nimble production & editing team, ensuring that funds went where they were needed most: restoring the diner.

PROCESS

Pre-Production

Coordinated with Rockingham for Progress team to arrange a convenient time to film.

Learned key points of capital campaign and audience in order to sketch an outline for the video.

Production

Filmed at the diner and around Bellows Falls with a 1-person crew and minimal equipment.

Used camera capable of filming low-light areas, using only natural light inside the diner car, and camera-mounted spotlight in basement.

Post-Production

Video edited using minimal “story flow” outline.

Final video finished promptly, with simple, communication-focused, graphics created in-house.
